by qinggongguo 08 Aug 2024

Quick Answer:

Absolutely yes! There is nothing wrong with wearing sunglasses or medical glasses while in a state of ihram. Wearing those eyeglasses you need is not among the things that are forbidden in Ihram.

Things Not Allowed for Men in Ihram:

Perfumes: Both men and women can not use perfumes or other scented products while in the state of Ihram.

Haircutting or Shaving: Men may not cut their hair, trim their beards or body hair; women can not cut their hair either.

Wearing form-fitting clothes: What is forbidden during ihram is to wear form-fitting clothes, such as a jacket, trousers, or gloves.

Head Covering: Men may not wear hats or any other form of head covering, except for the purpose of protecting themselves from the weather, but the hat should not touch the top of the head.

Hunting: Do not participate in any form of hunting.

Arguing or Fighting: Maintain a peaceful and tolerant attitude.

Things Allowed for Men in Ihram:

Eyeglasses: Both framed glasses and contact lenses are allowed, as they are not decorative but visual aids.

Medications: If needed, necessary medicines may be carried to maintain health.

Regular Shoes: Both men and women may wear shoes as long as they do not violate the basic principles of Ihram.

Personal hygiene products: such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, etc., but avoid using products containing fragrances.

Communication equipment: Mobile phones and other electronic devices are also allowed to be carried to contact family or friends and record the pilgrimage experience.

Sunglasses need to be noticed for men in Ihram:

When choosing sunglasses, they should focus on their eye protection function, choose simple and practical styles, and avoid overly fancy or obviously decorative designs to ensure that they meet the solemnity requirements during Ihram.
